Looye Kwekers has received a prestigious award from the International Taste Institute

Looye Kwekers has received a Superior Taste Award 2024 from the International Taste Institute in Brussels for our premium products, Looye Honeytomatoes and Looye Joyn tomatoes. Looye Honeytomatoes received a three-star rating with an exceptional overall score of over 91%. Looye Joyn was given a two-star rating with an impressive score of 87%.

The Taste Awards are given out twice annually by the International Taste Institute to foods and beverages that excel in taste and quality. The institute is a leading authority in the field of food assessment and taste. Products are subjected to tests for several sensory criteria, such as visual, aromatic, taste and textural aspects, as well as the ultimate mouthfeel. A product that receives an award has achieved an average score of more than 70% in each of the five criteria.

The jury of the International Taste Institute is made up of over 200 taste experts from more than 20 countries. These professionals are carefully selected for their tasting experience and are well-known for their achievements in chef and sommelier competitions, or through top-notch institutes such as Le Guide Michelin and Gault & Millau.
