Sangrita
Cooking time5 minutes
Not Sangria, but Sangrita! Also known as "little blood": a spicy shot with Looye JOYN tomatoes! Are you brave enough?
I want to make
METHOD TOMATO AND ORANGE JUICE
Cut the Looye JOYN tomatoes in half. Centrifuge them and put the sieved, collected juice in the fridge.
Cut the orange in half and juice both halves. Sieve the juice and put it in the fridge.
METHOD GARNISH
Rinse the jalapeño, cut in half width wise and cut a few nice slices. Make a small cut on the side of the slices so that you can easily attach them to the edge of the glass.
If you want to make the cucumber garnish: use a peeler to cut two long strings and skewer each onto a cocktail stick.
METHOD SANGRITA
Put 30 ml tomato juice and 15 ml orange juice, the drops of grenadine, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco in the shaker and shake well.
Pour the chilled tequila into two separate glasses. You could also choose to mix the tequila in the shaker with the other ingredients.
Divide the mixture between the two shot glasses and put some freshly ground black pepper on top. Finish with a slice of jalapeño on the edge of the glass and/or the cucumber skewer. Serve the Sangrita and, optionally, the glass of tequila together. Cheers!
